Vessel REGULATIONS

Although pressure vessels are tested in manufacturing facilities before they are put to work, internal and external corrosion over time can lead to dangerous explosions. As a result, the OHSA requires in-service inspection of pressure vessels by a SANAS certified individual at least every 36 months.

  • Keep your staff and facilities safe;
  • Be prepared for DOL workplace safety inspections;
  • Comply fully with legal requirements including record-keeping

Witness the power of pressure

This video demonstrates the shocking consequences of a small domestic pressure vessel explosion. In the industrial context, the risk of injury from such an explosion is magnified many times over.

In-service inspections will not have a significant impact on business operations, since the pressure vessel inspection procedure is carried out at your premises. Although the SANAS vessel testing regulations are relatively new, we have over 35 years of experience with pressure vessels.

Vessel Preparation

Preparing pressure vessels for inspection requires a specific procedure. Although larger concerns have the necessary qualified staff, many smaller concerns are unable to perform their own vessel preparation procedures. Our associates can help.

Nondestructive Testing

This form of testing is only required if our visual and ultrasonic thickness tests show a need for a more in-depth inspection. NDT specialists utilize a range of extremely high-tech equipment to confirm whether your pressure vessel is safe. Our associates can assist with NDT.

Deregulated Vessels

A deregulated vessel need not always be scrapped. Modifications can be made or the safe limits of the worn vessel can be determined, but this would be subject to approval by an Approved Inspection Authority. We are in contact with the professionals you need.
